On Monday, we were asked what happiness is.
Many had many opinions.
I personally thought really hard but didn't say out loud that my view of happiness isn't what you have, but what you can acquire. Acquisition is the ultimate happiness in a capitalist goal-oriented society.
You set goals for yourself, and you feel happy about achieving those goals.
That is why people love challenges. The feeling you get upon successful completion of a jigsaw puzzle is the same feeling you get from achieving your goals.
Just my two cents, of course.

Henry,
ReplyDeleteAnd a fine 2 cents worth it is.
But, I also have a question. Do you intend to equate acquisition with achieving? The first suggests material possessions (such as property, though not limited to that) while the later need not include material possessions.
